Football in Iowa is slightly different than football in Utah. On Saturday mornings all available parking lots in Coralville and Iowa City fill up with tailgaters. The dental school parking lot, which is located a block away from Kinnick Stadium, is usually full of motorhomes by 7 PM Friday night. Fans wake up early- often by 7 AM- to begin drinking and grilling before the game. Traffic through town comes to a stop as 70,000 people come to each game. Matt was able to attend the season opener against Montana this past Saturday. He and several of his friends from school had seats in the student section. They had a great time even though they did not tailgate before the game. In the meantime, Leticia watched a movie with the other wives of those at the game. It was a perfect combination- Matt was able to watch a football game, and Leticia watched a chick-flick. The Hawkeyes won easily and have moved up in the polls to #14. The big game of the season against #1 Ohio State is scheduled during Priesthood Session of General Conference. Hmmm.......we'll have to record the game and watch it later, I guess.

They are about 5 months old, but we just got a new digital camera, so I will try to get some recent ones up when I get back from Kansas next Tuesday.
